Indeed we can’t see out a week of typical MCM Melbournia, without a Toorak pad elemental in its Modernist roots, yet slathered with a thick patina of mature-ladies-who-lunch decor. If you see through the off-white palette, wall to wall carpeting, chandeliers and marble you will easily be enthralled by that hipper-than-hip circular forecourt and, like the previous Borland house in Kew, ingenious northern orientation on irregular block, vastly more astute and elegant than the Neo-Georgian ‘townhouses’ which plague this original ‘money’ suburb.* (tip – check the drone shot; the homes on either side of this one also look to be original 60s gems – hooray!)

*Once again although touted as an iconic architect designed residence, we are not advised who said architect is – grrrrrr.
