Another bona fide killer. Rising out of the jungle and enmeshed in rock this c.1965 residence has an obvious (though at this point unknown) pedigree with an innovative master at its origin, just check that site plan. With a garden lush to the point of dripping life itself and a construction so deliberately square and solid, this unreal property is instantly reminiscent the great Mod Brutalist architecture of Brazil and other Latin American countries – bold, uncompromising, enveloped by unstoppable vines, trees and creatures. Sure to cost a bomb (we’re not sure what constitutes excellent value’ in one of the the country’s richest suburbs), this beauty for most of us fits into Indiana Jones territory – a thing of beauty to be sought, studied and preserved.
